Shawn Johnson Welcomes Baby No.#3 With Husband Andrew East

Shawn Johnson and Andrew East have welcomed their third child via C-section. 

"Our baby is healthy and that's all we can ask for! Recovery is always a process and I've learned to be really patient with my body."

"Not trying to rush anything and really just going to soak it all in. The third time around feels so surreal because even though we've done this twice before, there's still so much nervousness and excitement around the days leading up to the birth and then so much magic once you get to hold your sweet baby in your arms for the first time."

Their newest addition joins big sister Drew (3) and brother Jett (2). After first announcing the pregnancy last July, Shawn opted to keep the gender a surprise until the arrival. 

"There was something so special with Drew about Andrew finding out first in delivery and being able to tell me. It's his little celebration moment. It was really, really special. And so we're like, 'Let's just do that one more time.'"

She has now shared the baby's name and sex. 

"Barrett “Bear” Madison East… @bearmadisoneast. We’ve all been waiting for you 🩵."

"Our baby boy has finally arrived, and we couldn't be more thrilled. Both baby and mom are doing great, and we are counting our blessings!"

Shawn has also reflected on how her mindset changed with each pregnancy. 

On becoming a first time mother, she said, "You become so over-prepared. And then with every kid, it's like, ‘Oh, I know I still have that stuff. And we'll figure it out when they get here.'" 

How she was feeling about number three's arrival, "So much more lax to the point where I started to panic because I haven't done anything." 

"The best part of parenting, especially after having two kids now, is to see each of our babies develop into their own person. And they are not alike at all, which is really, really fun to watch."

Shawn has shared more photos of baby Bear, writing next to images of baby sleeping against her chest, "Our sweet sweet Bear. Eating and sleeping like a champ."

She has declared bubbie "perfect" when sharing a photo of him swaddled. Additionally, she shared an image comparing all three of her children as newborns.

The couple revealed the new arrival was especially exciting for Drew and Jett. 

"Seeing them meet their newest sibling was the sweetest thing EVER. They've been so gentle with the baby and I know they're glad the wait is over, especially Drew."

In July, she announced the pregnancy writing "Swipe for a surprise ☺️," next to a series of photos, which featured a picture of her sitting at an ancient stadium in Greece, and then posing with her bump to the side.

She said she was most excited to introduce new bubbie to Drew and Jett. 

"I think they will be the greatest and it'll just be exciting to have that moment where we can share it all together," she said.

She also said that Andrew was "very excited" about welcoming baby boy. 

"He loves babies. He's a phenomenal daddy and he is very excited. I'm definitely the more anxious one, just hoping everything goes smoothly."
