Ryan Gosling Has Deadpan Reaction To 'I'm Just Ken' Winning Critics Choice Award
Ryan Gosling has showcased his best deadpan reaction at the 2024 Critic's Choice Awards, appearing stunned when 'I'm Just Ken,' his song in 'Barbie,' won Best Song.
As presenters Bella Ramsey and Anthony Ramos named him as the winner, he was seen raising his eyebrows, and looking taken aback.
He then stood up and jokingly shook his head in disbelief. He also proceeded to applaud writers Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt.
Mark went on to address him in the audience, "Ryan Gosling, this is as much your award as ours. You made the audience fall in love with this song with your matchless performance, so thank you."
He then thanked Greta Gerwig, the director, and her co-writer Noah Baumbach, as well as Margot Robbie.
"The fact that you carved out 11 minutes for this prog-rock, power-ballad, dream-ballet, shred fest so the boys could cry and hold hands a little too, we're really forever in your debt for that."
The Best Song category included two other 'Barbie' soundtrack songs, 'Dance the Night' by Dua Lipa, and 'What Was I Made For?' by Billie Eilish.
Other nominees included 'Peaches' by Jack Black (Super Mario Bros. Movie), 'Road to Freedom' by Lenny Kravitz (Rustin), and 'This Wish' by Julia Michaels (Wish).
'Barbie' receieved five other awards, including Best Comedy, Best Original Screenplay, Best Production Design, Best Costume, and Best Hair & Makeup. It had received 18 nominations in total.
Margot Robbie was also in attendance, where she was nominated for Best Actress.
She wore a red off-the-shoulder Balmain gown, paired with around 100 carats of Lorraine Schwartz diamonds.
