The 66th Annual Grammy Awards are coming up in February, with nominations announced back in November last year.
Rapper SZA leads with nine nominations, followed by Phoebe Bridgers, Serban Ghenea and Victoria Monét, who all have seven.
Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Jon Batiste, Jack Antonoff, Boygenius and Brandy Clark follow behind them with six nominations each.
In a post to X (formerly Twitter), SZA said, "Cause I’m overwhelmed by it and it gives me alotta [sic] anxiety to think of words … but I’m very grateful and very shook. And I wish my granny was here to come w me again.”
She invited her grandmother to the 2018 Grammys as her date, which was when she was first nominated. It was also her first time performing at the Grammys.
“I had to. My granny came all the way from St. Louis and she’s never flown before.” Her grandmother passed away a year later.
The 66th Annual Grammys will take place on February 4th, 2024. Trevor Noah will emcee the ceremony for the fourth year in a row.
“I’m excited about that, yeah, it’s a lot of fun. I enjoy the Grammys because I get to watch the show in person and then experience and comment on it in person while it is happening.”
SZA, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo, and Ice Spice have all received nominations.
The nominees for Album of the Year are Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo, SZA, Taylor Swift, Lana Del Rey, Jon Batiste, Boygenius, and Janelle Monáe.
Taylor Swift said, "Sort of a crazy day yesterday. I started off my morning by getting the extraordinary news that because of you and because of the way you have supported my album Midnights, it just got nominated for six Grammys! You’re the best. You continue to be the best. You’re the only reason that anything like that ever happened in my life.”
Performers for the night include Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, Olivia Rodrigo, Travis Scott, Luke Combs, and Burna Boy.
Legendary superstar Joni Mitchell will also perform at the show, marking her first-ever Grammys performance.
She is also nominated for Best Folk Album.
For this year's Grammys, there have been a range of new categories added.
These include Best African Music Performance, Best Alternative Jazz Album, and Best Pop Dance Recording.
There will also be awards for Producer of the Year, Non-Classical, and Songwriter of the Year.
The 2024 Grammys will air live on CBS and be available to stream via Paramount+.
