Isla Fisher Shares Update On Potential 'Wedding Crashers' Sequel
Isla Fisher, who starred alongside Owen Wilson, Vince Vaughn, and Rachel McAdams in 'The Wedding Crashers,' has revealed a sequel is possible in the near future.
"There have been conversations where we were pretty close. Vince and Owen have such an incredible chemistry and you just feel it from the screen. It's palpable and it's its own hilarious beast, so I want to see them on camera again doing what they do best."
She's fully onboard with reprising her role as Gloria.
"She's such a fun character. It's also so rare, as a woman, to be in a comedy where you get to make jokes and not just be the straight man."
She noted she's been keeping tabs on her former castmates, teasing that some are "still keen" on making a sequel.
"Fingers crossed we make another one. It'd be such a fun way to all get back together."
There's been speculation surrounding a sequel to the comedy for years. In 2014, director David Dobkin said he and Owen Wilson "did come up with a great take" for a follow-up. He did say, however, that there wasn't a lot of interest since the original came out.
In 2020, Will Ferrell, who portrayed Chazz Reinhold, revealed a sequel is "being written." Rachel McAdams shared "it'd be nice to go back and have a romp" with Vince and Owen onscreen.
Owen has also confirmed there've been talk about the sequel. "Top Gun, when did they do the original? That turned out great. So, you never know."
Currently, fans can watch Isla Fisher in her new series 'Wolf Like Me.'
