Donald Trump is required to pay E. Jean Carroll U$83.3 million in damages, after he defamed her back in 2019.

A jury ruled Trump must pay the journalist after he disparaged her, while he denied her rape allegations.

Carroll is now set to receive U$11 million for damage to her reputation, U$7.3 million for emotional harm, and U$65 million in punitive damages.

Her attorney, during the hearing, asked the jury for a minimum of U$24 million in compensatory damages and “lots and lots of money” in punitive damages.

After the announcement, Donald Trump slammed the ruling.

“Absolutely ridiculous! I fully disagree with both verdicts, and will be appealing this whole [Joe] Biden Directed Witch Hunt focused on me and the Republican Party. Our Legal System is out of control, and being used as a Political Weapon. They have taken away all First Amendment Rights. THIS IS NOT AMERICA!”

The trial started earlier this month, with Trump taking the stand on January 25th.

While he was testifying, Trump was asked if he stood by his claims from 2022, where he called Carroll's allegations a "hoax" and "con job."

He said, "One hundred percent. Yes. No. I just wanted to defend myself, my family and frankly, the presidency.”

Everything after the word “no” was ordered to be stricken.

Back in May last year, Trump was found liable in a separate case for defaming Carroll. In this, he was ordered to pay her U$5 million in damages.

Carroll came forward in 2019, accusing Trump of raping her in a department store dressing room, back in the 1990s.

Trump claimed multiple times that he didn't know who she was and that she was lying.

“This is a fake story. Made-up story. I have no idea who the hell she is. She’s a whack job.”

Currently, Trump is also facing 91 felony counts across Washington D.C. and Florida federal cases, as well as state cases in New York and Georgia.

These counts are for election interference, hoarding classified documents after his presidency and falsifying business records.

Additionally he is campaigning to be the Republican presidential nominee for the 2024 election.
