Country star, Chris Young, has been arrested in Nashville, charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and assault of an officer.
It was confirmed he was booked into the Nashville Metro jail on January 22nd, and was released January 23rd. He is scheduled to appear in court on February 16th.
The alleged incident happened after Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) agents entered a bar to complete a compliance check.
Chris was present at the time, and allegedly started questioning the agents, and recording video of them.
The agents proceeded to leave, and entered a different establishment to perform another compliance check.
When they attempted to leave, Chris allegedly put his hands out to stop them from leaving. One agent claimed he then "struck" him on the shoulder, and started "yelling and screaming."
Chris rose to stardom after he won season four of 'Nashville Star' in 2006. He was then signed to RCA Records Nashville, and has released eight studio albums.
Just earlier this month, he announced his next album, 'Young Love & Saturday Night,' set to be released on March 22nd.
"It’s time. I’ve put a lot into this next one and I cannot wait for y’all to hear it."
He said the album is "a little louder [and] a little more raw” than previous releases.
“Even the stripped-down songs are heavier. I love creating music and I love making it and the fact that I get to do that for a living is a pretty incredible thing.”
Prior to announcing the album, he release a sing of the same name in July last year. David Bowie is credited as one of the songwriters, because the song borrows a guitar riff from Bowie's 1974 song 'Rebel Rebel.'
“There are a lot of songs where people use something as a sample or have exactly the same melody or lyric. This is different. This is creating something new, with a nod to something that pre-existed. And if you get the reference, it just made the song even cooler for you. Just to have a song that has David Bowie listed as a songwriter is amazing.”
Some of Chris' other recognisable tracks include, 'Gettin’ You Home,' 'The Man I Want to Be,' and 'Famous Friends,' which also features Kane Brown.
