Angelina Jolie Plans To Leave Hollywood
Angelina Jolie has recently opened up about her decision to leave Hollywood, and revealed she hasn't been able to do it yet due to ongoing legal issues related to her divorce from Brad Pitt.
"It's part of what happened after my divorce, I lost the ability to live and travel as freely. I will move when I can."
As the daughter of actors, she revealed she was never really "impressed" with the culture. "I never bought into it as significant or important."
Despite not buying into the nature, she started her own acting career, and soon found herself in the center.
Looking back, if she knew what was coming, she said she may have pursued a different career path.
"When I was starting out, it wasn't as much of an expectation to be as public, to share so much."
For Angelina, this includes the seven year legal battle with Brad Pitt over custody and estate claims. Outside of public interest, the divorce has out stress on their children, Maddox (22), Pax (20), Zahara (18), Shiloh (17), and twins Knox and Vivienne (15).
She says the divorce took a toll on everyone. "We had to heal. There are things we needed to heal from."
She says she has plans to spend more time at her home in Cambodia once she leaves Hollywood, seeking out "authenticity" with her children.
"They are the closest people to me and my life, and they're my close friends. We're seven very different people, which is our strength."
In the meantime, some of the family have already flown the coop, with Maddox studying at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea, and Zahara attending Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia.
