John Legend & Chrissy Teigen Renew Vows For 10th Anniversary
John Legend and Chrissy Teigen chose to renew their vows to celebrate the 10th wedding anniversary.
They first tied the knot on Sept. 14, 2013, in Lake Como, Italy, and returned here for the renewal of their vows.
Celebrations started with a brunch at Villa Pizzo, which was where they had the ceremony of their wedding. "It was very romantic. They arrived by boat. ... It was breathtaking to see them still so happy together."
Later on, the renewal ceremony took place. "[John and Chrissy] came out onto a balcony and greeted all the guests. [John] also held a brief speech later, after the dinner."
"There was dancing and there was a lakeside bar that was a big favorite. The food was appreciated."
There were "flowers everywhere. It's been a very elegant, very classic event."
The couple first met in 2006 on the set of his music video for 'Stereo.' During their early years, they traveled to Lake Como, which is where Chrissy knew she wanted to marry John.
In 2016, she shared a post of the two in Lake Como and said, "Back to where it all began - Lake Como, Italy - first came here in 2007."
"A boat tour guide took us to a little spot on the lake and told us to make a wish. I asked for this to be the man I marry and have children with. I think John asked for the most perfect bite of cacio e pepe. Both came true, and here we are."
In December 2011, John proposed and they then wed in a private ceremony on Sept. 10 at a New York City courthouse.
Four days later, they exchanged vows in Lake Como. Chrissy wore a Vera Wang gown and John serenaded her with 'All of Me.'
The anniversary celebrations were teased on social media by Chrissy. The two also share children Luna Simone (7), Miles Theodore (5), Esti Maxine (9 months), and Wren Alexander (2 months).
She teased that the “10th anniversary weekend is commmming” with a photo of a poolside location.
“The most perfect day. #johnXchrissy."
