Bruce Springsteen Suffering From Peptic Ulcer Disease

Bruce Springsteen has given fans an update into the painful stomach illness that forced him to cancel multiple shows.

He announced he was in the midst of treatment for peptic ulcer disease, and would have to postpone the remainder of his 2023 tour.

He later expressed appreciation for the support from fans, and said his condition has been "a monster" to deal with, and continues causing him pain.

“Let me take a moment and thank my fans affected by our postponed shows for their understanding. I am deeply sorry but this belly thing, despite my ability to laugh at it, has been a monster and is still unfortunately rocking my internal world.”

He noted he was "heartbroken" to have to postpone concerts, but promised he would be "back to pick these shows up and then some.”

He proceeded to cancel all of his 2023 shows "out of an abundance of caution," and shared that he "has continued to recover steadily from peptic ulcer disease over the past few weeks."

He began his tour last February, marking his first US tour since 2016, and first international tour since 2017.

It was revealed his disease was sidelining the "decision of his medical advisors.”

An ulcer is an open sore, while peptic means acid is the root of the problem. Peptic ulcer disease causes sores to grow on the inside lining of the stomach and part of the small intestine. It causes belly pain, nausea, vomiting, and bloating/fullness feelings.

Last week, Bruce rescheduled his canceled dates for March and April. He has also welcomed Mike Wilson, Mike Domanski, Donnie Powell and Craig Caprioni to the tour.
