Britney Spears Fined for Driving Without A License & Proof of Insurance
Britney Spears has been fined for driving without a license, and proof of insurance. Now, her lawyer is claiming she has her required documentation.
“Britney at all times had a license and insurance. This is the functional equivalent of a parking ticket.”
She was written up by the California Highway Patrol for allegedly not having a valid license, and failing to provide proof of insurance.
These violations accrued an overall fine of $1,140 USD (approx. $1,802 AUD).
The news of these infractions comes after sheriffs performed a wellness check on her last month. She was visited by police after a video was posted to social media of herself dancing with knives.
She assured fans who reported the video the cutlery wasn't real.
“I know I spooked everyone with the last post, but these are fake knives that my team rented from Hand Prop shop in LA. These are not real knives. No one needs to worry or call the police. I’m trying to imitate one of my favorite performers Shakira … a performance I was inspired by !!! Cheers to us bad girls who aren’t afraid to push boundaries and take risks 💅🏼💅🏼💅🏼!”
The concern for her wellbeing comes after her divorce from Sam Asghari. It was confirmed in August, the two had separated after less than a year of marriage.
Sam filed for divorce and cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason.
“Some people are of the opinion that Britney’s on a dangerous downward spiral. And the stuff she’s been [doing] hasn’t done much to dampen that worry. The concern for Britney’s welfare right now is off the charts.”
This is the first time she has navigated life alone since her 13 year conservatorship ended in November 2021.
In 2008, she was put under the conservatorship after a series of personal struggles. Her father, Jamie, had control over the estate.
During heated hearings, Britney claimed she felt "enslaved" by her father, and called out her mother, Lynne, and sister Jamie, for allegedly not "doing anything" to help.
An insider has revealed she's been busy "focusing on herself” as she works on new music and prepares for the release of her upcoming memoir, 'The Woman in Me,' which drops on October 24th.
