Alanis Morissette Joins P!nk Onstage
Alanis Morissette surprised fans at a P!nk concert, when she came onstage during a cover of her song 'You Oughta Know.'
P!nk was performing in California as part of her 'Summer Carnival' tour when she threw in a special version of the song.
As she sang the chorus, she revealed she had another trick up her sleeve: Alanis, who ran out onstage to join her.
After the song finished, they shared a hug as P!nk told her, “I love you so much it hurts.”
“That woman changed everything. She changed everything. OK. I need to calm down.”
Alanis later commemorated the moment on Instagram with a photo of the two of them hugging on stage before the show.
“this woman. so happy you exist in this world @pink your leadership, wisdom, power, and deep deep kindness is a gift to me, and to everyone. thanks for having me 🪂🔥🤩🙏🏻❤️🙌🏻."
Stars such as Ricki Lake, Rosie O’Donnell and Brad Garrett have also sung their praises in the comments, along with Alanis' husband Souleye, who left several emojis, including a red heart, two flames and two crowns.
P!nk has long been a fan of Alanis, and in 2015 revealed 'Jagged Little Pill' was “one of the best albums ever made.”
She was also asked during a 2021 interview to name a lyric she loved, and she responded with a line from 'You Oughta Know.'
“‘And every time I scratch my nails down someone else’s back, I hope you feel it.'"
She is currently touring around North America, and will end in November. She will continue in Australia in February next year.
