Kevin Costner Accused of ‘Stonewalling’ Before Child Support Hearing
Kevin Costner has been accused by estranged wife, Christine Baumgartner of "withholding" information surrounding his business prior to their next court dates.
An attorney for Christine asked to court to compel Kevin to produce documents related to business affairs. He accused Kevin of "stonewalling" by refusing to share requested information prior to a child support hearing.
The request states the court "will receive evidence regarding [Costner’s] gross cash flow available for support and anticipated future income” at the hearing, but Christine “will be unable to present any evidence that [Costner] has chosen to withhold from discovery.”
Her legal team requested information about his upcoming film series because "such documents evidence his future endeavors and anticipated income.” They claim he is “withholding” that information.
Back in June however, Kevin's legal team said the requested documents were "not relevant" as the prenup states that "all income earned during marriage would be the separate property of the spouse earning the income and providing for no community property.”
His lawyer went on to call Christine's requests “burdensome, oppressive and harassing.”
In June, Christine asked Kevin for $248,000 a month to support their children Cayden (16), Hayes (14) and Grace (13). Kevin countered saying he couldn't afford to pay that as he "will earn substantially less in 2023” after leaving 'Yellowstone.'
One month later, the court temporarily awarded Christine $129,755 a month for child support. Kevin was also ordered to pay $200,000 in attorneys' fees, and $100,000 in forensic costs.
Christine filed for divorce on May 1st after an 18 year long marriage. An insider recently revealed Kevin is getting tired of the legal drama.
“Kevin and his lawyers have made a concerted effort to lower the temperature and stop the tide of bad publicity. Kevin feels betrayed by Christine, but he wants to take the high ground. Kevin doesn’t want to waste more time fighting with Christine.”
The insider noted the two are "“only speaking through intermediaries” as they hammer out the details of their divorce.
“Kevin would rather use the silent treatment than deal with Christine directly anymore. Kevin sees himself as having all the class and integrity in this situation.”
