Joe Jonas & Sophie Turner To Divorce

Joe Jonas is set to divorce wife Sophie Turner after four years of marriage.

The couple have walked down the aisle twice, once in Las Vegas and once in France, and are parents to Willa (3) and a second daughter (14 months).

The two first connected through Instagram DMs, back in 2016.

"We had a lot of mutual friends, and they'd been trying to introduce us for a long time. We were following each other on Instagram and he direct-messaged me one fine day, out of the blue."

Soon after, Joe invited Sophie to hang out while his tour passed through the UK. Her friends thought it would be "hilarious" and convinced her to agree.

The arranged to meet at a bar, and Sophie brought along her "rugby boys" in case Joe turned out to be a catfish. 

She expected him to "show up with security" and was pleasantly surprised when he arrived with a friend.

In 2017, Joe proposed, and in matching Instagram posts, the showed off her hand and engagement ring. Joe said "She said yes," while Sophie wrote, "I said yes."

They received an outpour of support from friends and family, including Nick Jonas who wrote "Ahh! Congratulations to my brother… and sister in law to be on your engagement. I love you both so much."

They then wed in a surprise ceremony in Las Vegas, and a lavish affair in France.

In 2020, they welcomed daughter Willa, and in July 2022, they welcomed their second daughter.

"It's been amazing to be a dad and to learn every day more about myself and what that's like."

Just last month, Sophie celebrated her man on his 34th birthday. “Happy birthday handsome.” And earlier this year, she showed her support by attending a ceremony honouring The Jonas Brothers with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. 

Each brother had the chance to say something, and Joe made sure to shoutout his wife.

"Sophie, what up homie. You're my partner in crime. You keep me motivated and inspired every day. I strive to be as cool as you. You got any plans after this? To my little ones at home, Daddy loves you to the moon and back."

Now, Joe has officially filed for divorce, after being together for seven years.

Documents claim that the marriage to Sophie was "irretrievably broken," and noted although the two daughters have been residing with Joe, that it's "in the best interests of the minor children that the parties have shared parental responsibility.”

Rumours about a separation began when the two were spotted without their wedding rings, one month after selling their Miami mansion.

Joe raised some eyebrows by wearing the ring again during a concert earlier this month. Rumours continued after Sophie was noticeably missing from tour dates, when Nick's wife Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Kevin's spouse Daniella Jonas were there.

The two have now broken silence regarding the divorce.

“After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage. There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children.”
