Exorswift Is No Longer Happening

While planning for her 'Eras Tour' movie release, it appears Taylor Swift forgot about Jason Blum, and scheduled her film to come out the same day as the upcoming 'Exorcist' film.

Blum's sequel 'The Exorcist: Believer' was originally set to premiere on October 13th, 2023. However, Taylor recently revealed her concert film will be released on the same day, lining up with her lucky number 13.

The double feature sparked up a meme instantly, similar to the 'Barbenheimer' mashup, occurring when 'Barbie' and 'Oppenheimer' released on the same day. Fans were using the hashtag #Exorswift.

Blumhouse Productions later revealed that the 'Exorcist' sequel premiere date would be moved up a week, to avoid releasing on the same day as Taylor's feature film debut.

The 'Eras Tour' movie will have a minimum of four daily showtimes for the first few days at every AMC theatre in the US starting October 13th. LOOK Cinemas, B&B Theatres, Marcus Theatres, and Harkins Theatres, as well as smaller chains will showcase the film.

The runtime is listed as 2 hours, 45 minutes, almost an hour less than her concerts. Ticket prices will be $19.89 for adults and $13.13 for children and seniors. This plays on her album '1989' and lucky number. IMAX tickets will cost more.

'The Exorcist: Believer' will see the return of Ellen Burstyn as Chris MacNeil from the original 1973  film.

Other stars include Leslie Odom Jr. and Ann Dowd. The first 'Exorcist' follows a girl possessed by a mysterious entity, however the sequel will see single father Victor (Odom) confront a similar force of evil that overtakes his daughter Angela (Lidya Jewett) and her friend Katherine (Olivia Marcum). 

David Gordon Green is the director behind the film, having also directed 2018's 'Halloween.' The film will take place exactly 50 years after the original. This will also be the first of a planned trilogy, with the sequel set for April 18th, 2025.
