Selena Gomez Confirms Return to Music
Selena Gomez has not only confirmed she's releasing a new song 'Single Soon' from an upcoming album, but also when fans can hear the new track.
"Y'all have been asking for new music for a while. Since I'm not quite done with SG3, I wanted to put out a fun little song I wrote a while back that's perfect for the end of summer. SINGLE SOON. August 25th. Presave it now."
Miley Cyrus also will also be releasing new single 'Used To Be Young' on that day, with fans excited for both,
"Both queens. We are streaming both!"
"We'll be supporting both!"
'Single Soon' saw a collaboration with Selena and a pair of previous collaborators, Benny Blanco, and Cashmere Cat.
A press release has referred the single to a "pop anthem" which aligns with the vibe Selena is teasing.
"I'm so used to writing sad-girl songs 'cause I'm good at that. But I'm ready to have some fun, and I think people are going to love it."
This new single comes less than a year after she released 'My Mind & Me' which is a single from her documentary of the same name, and her collab with Rema for a new version of 'Calm Down.' Both ended up of the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
An official release date has yet to be revealed for SG3, and Selena is assuring fans she's working on it.
"Don't worry guys, it's coming. Even from Paris."
"It's been really difficult. I'm really used to going into a setting with the same people in my circle and just banging out music. To be honest, I'm now telling stories that people don't know—people I've dated that people don't know, experiences I've had that people don't know. I've created this whole private life that was just mine, and I feel like now I have to tell these stories and people are going to ask a lot of questions."
"I feel like I've earned it, and I just don't want to release anything that's not perfect. It's getting there is all I can say. It's getting there."
