Sandra Bullock's Longtime Partner Dead At Age 57

Sandra Bullock’s longtime partner Bryan Randall has died following a three year private battle with ALS. He was 57 years old. 

“It is with great sadness that we share that on August 5, Bryan Randall passed away peacefully after a three-year battle with ALS. Bryan chose early to keep his journey with ALS private and those of us who cared for him did our best to honor his request.”

“We are immensely grateful to the tireless doctors who navigated the landscape of this illness with us and to the astounding nurses who became our roommates, often sacrificing their own families to be with ours. At this time we ask for privacy to grieve and to come to terms with the impossibility of saying goodbye to Bryan. His Loving Family.”

Instead of flowers, the family are requesting donations be made to the ALS Association, and the Massachusetts General Hospital.

The news of his death, comes just shortly after he and Sandra's relationship had been in a "cooling off period."

The two began dating in August 2015, after he was hired to photograph her son's birthday that year. 

While their relationship blossomed, they decided to keep it on the down low and out of the spotlight for the most part.

“He’s the guy who will always get the door or get her jacket and help put it on. Bryan takes care of her in all of the right ways. She feels loved and appreciated all of the time.”

Sandra previously called Bryan the "love of my life," saying she didn't feel pressured to get married.

“We share two beautiful children— three children, [Randall’s] older daughter. It’s the best thing ever. I don’t wanna say do it like I do it, but I don’t need a paper to be a devoted partner and devoted mother. I don’t need to be told to be ever present in the hardest of times. I don’t need to be told to weather a storm with a good man.”

She continued to describe him as a "saint" and “the example that I would want my children to have” growing up.

“Sandra and Bryan have always enjoyed their own personal space and can live in separate places for weeks at a time. But [last year] they were going through some major problems and friends thought they weren’t going to make it.”
