Jonathan Scott & Zooey Deschanel Engaged

Jonathan Scott and Zooey Deschanel are engaged after four years of dating.

“Forever starts now!!!” Zooey captioned a selfie showing off her sparkling engagement ring.

The two met while filming Carpool Karaoke with their siblings in 2019, and one month later, Jonathan dished on his budding romance.

“I am seeing someone. I’m a very private person, so I don’t typically talk about that. It’s definitely special for me because I am the guy who raises the bar in what I’m looking for in a partner. I was caught a little off guard. It was definitely a pleasant surprise.”

The two had "instant chemistry" binding of their love of "music, film, theater and Christmas carols,” having shared interests and a similar sense of humor which led them to start “texting and talking on the phone.”

The relationship came shortly after Zooey split from ex-husband Jacob Pechenik following four years of marriage. They announced their breakup in 2019, noting they were “better off as friends, business partners and coparents.”

A month later, Jonathan and Zooey made their relationship official after a double date with Drew Scott and wife Linda Phan.

After attending the 2019 wedding of J.D. Scott, the two went on to accompany each other at different events, including on stage during the A Very She & Him Christmas Party tour in December 2019, and on the June 2022 cover for the Scott brothers’ Reveal magazine.

“Today is my favorite person’s birthday. You are caring, talented, hilarious, sweet and just as beautiful on the inside as you are on the outside. I know we can’t celebrate like we did last year, but I have a few surprises up my sleeve. #HappyBirthday, @ZooeyDeschanel. You fill my life with so much joy.”

Prior to their engagement, Zooey gushed over Jonathan in a tribute.
