Kanye West’s Account Reinstated On 'X', Formerly Twitter
'X,' formerly known as Twitter, has reinstated Kanye West's account, almost eight months after suspending it due to violating company policy.
Now legally Ye, he won't be able to monetise his account, and advertisements won't appear next to his posts.
Last year, he posted a picture of a swastika merged with the Star of David, and Elon Musk said it violated the rules against incitement to violence on the platform.
After receiving reassurance Ye wouldn't use it to share antisemitic or harmful language, his account was reinstated, and Ye has yet to tweet.
Musk has called himself a "free speech absolutist" claiming the platform should intervene ONLY to comply with local laws.
He continued to say he would reinstate accounts banned for violating company policy, but not accounts that broke the law.
Former President Donald Trump had his account reinstated in November after polling users, and has not posted from his account since.
The reinstatement follows Musk changing the name and logo to 'X', placing a lighted X sign on the roof of the headquarters in San Francisco last Friday.
This was done without a permit, and the company representative explained it was temporary for an event.
Kanye has been rebuked after making antisemitic comments, causing him to lose partnerships with Adidas and Gap.
His account was locked over an antisemitic tweet that violated the platform's policies.
The tweet said he wanted to go "death con [sic] 3 on Jewish people.”
His account was revived before the acquisition of Musk, with Musk saying, "They did not consult with or inform me."
