James Cameron Denies OceanGate Film

James Cameron has denied all allegations he's involved in discussions surrounding a potential movie about OceanGate and the Titan submersible.

Almost a month after the sub imploded underwater, James shared a statement on Twitter.

"I don't respond to offensive rumors in the media usually, but I need to now. I'm NOT in talks about an OceanGate film, nor will I ever be."

James has also expressed his thoughts on the implosion.

"I'm struck by the similarity of the Titanic disaster itself, where the captain was repeatedly warned about ice ahead of his ship and yet he steamed at full speed into an ice field on a moonless night—and many people died as a result."

"For a very similar tragedy, where warnings went unheeded, to take place at the same exact site with all the diving that's going on all around the world, I think it's just astonishing. It's really quite surreal."

"Here's a case starkly, today, where the collective, we didn't remember the lesson of Titanic—these guys at OceanGate didn't. I just think it's heartbreaking that it was so preventable."

Earlier this month, all social media accounts for the company were scrubbed, and the website was changed to read, "OceanGate has suspended all exploration and commercial operations."
