Stars Celebrate King Charles III During Coronation Concert
Nicole Scherzinger, Stella McCartney, Lionel Richie and more were seen celebrating King Charles III's coronation over the weekend, during the Coronation Concert.
Stars arrived at the East Lawn of Windsor Castle on Sunday, May 7th, many there to perform in honour of the new royalty.
Nicole Scherzinger said via Instagram prior to preforming, “Truly honored to be performing at this weekend’s #CoronationOnTheBBC. Tune in to see me perform tomorrow at the #CoronationConcert.”
This concert also featured sets from Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, Andrea Bocelli, and Take That.
Katy Perry shared that she was "grateful" to have the opportunity to be involved with the coronation's festivities and shared a connection with the new King.
“I met His Majesty-to-be a few years ago and he named me as one of the ambassadors to his organization, The British Asian Trust, which is an organization that helps fight to end child traffickin. I’m also an ambassador for UNICEF, and it really aligned with my values. That’s mostly why I’m going, to be an ambassador and to say, ‘Hey, this is me from the USA.’ No, but it’s so cool.”
Lionel Richie also had something to say about his involvement in the day. I’m like a kid at Christmas time!”
Apart from the performers, Tom Cruise and Winnie the Pooh were to be special guests during the show.
