Priscilla Presley's Request To Be Buried Next To Elvis Denied

Priscilla Presley has reportedly requested to be buried next to ex-husband Elvis Presley at the Graceland estate.

The request was made during negotiations with granddaughter Riley Keough over Lisa Marie Presley's trust. The two settles their trust battle on May 17th.

Details of the settlement haven't been released but it has been reported that Priscilla requested the burial plot in addition to money but the demand was denied.

Priscilla and Elvis were married from 1967 to 1973, and welcomed Lisa in 1968. 

After his death in 1977, Elvis was buried at his family's Graceland home in Memphis, Tennessee.

He is currently placed in between his grandmother Minnie Mae Presley and his father Vernon Presley.

His mother Gladys Presley, Lisa Marie and her son Benjamin Keough are also buried at the estate.

Priscilla's request would have required one of the other graves to be moves.

Lisa passed at the age of 54 on January 12th after going into cardiac arrest. Priscilla contested her daughter's will later that month stating she was not informed of a 2016 amendment made replacing her and as a co-trustee with Lisa's children Riley and Benjamin. Riley became sole trustee after her brother passed in 2020.

Priscilla alleged her daughter's signature was invalid and forged and did not match her handwriting. She also claimed the amendment should be considered as "invalid modification" as it wasn't witnessed or notarised.

It has been claimed that Riley “always tried to be a bridge” between her mother and grandmother, noting, “She’s still doing this even after her mother’s death. But still honoring her mother’s wishes.”

Priscilla’s attorney, Ronson J. Shamoun, revealed that she and Riley had “reached a settlement” in their will drama. “Everyone is happy, unified, together and excited for the future."

Priscilla also released a statement.

“My family has resolved all confusion as it relates to our plea to the court and request for document interpretation after my daughter Lisa Marie’s untimely passing. Although some media identified such a plea as a lawsuit, I want to make clear that there was never any lawsuit filed against my beloved granddaughter. As a family, we are pleased that we resolved this together.”
