Olivia Plath's Brother Dead At 15

Olivia Plath, star of 'Welcome to Plathville' has announced the death of her younger brother Micah Meggs, who has died at the age of 15.

"Hey guys, I'm jumping off of social media for a bit. Don't worry if you don't see me around - I'm taking some space now. I lost a younger brother last night to an unexpected accident and I need some clarity and space for grieving."

Olivia, who married husband Ethan Plath in 2018, posted a similar message on Instagram, reminding customers of her photography business that she is "on a social media break due to a family death."

It has been reported Micah was riding his electric bike on U.S. route 220 in Virginia, and was hit by a Honda Accord around 10PM. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and the Honda driver was not injured. Police are currently investigating the incident.

Micah was the ninth of 10 children, now survived by his parents Don and Karen Meggs, and siblings Elijah, Joshua, Elise, Lydia, Sophia, Nathan, Carris, Kirsten, and Olivia. He is also survived by his grandparents Juanita Meggs and Jerry Boyer, along with multiple nieces and nephews.

His family said in his obituary, "Micah loved to hang out with his siblings and a few close friends, playing practical jokes, sharing his understated sense of humor and bringing laughs to those he loved."

They also noted he enjoyed "spending his time outdoors hunting, fishing, camping and trapping, and became a skilled outdoorsman." The obituary featured a picture of him holding a fish.

He had "suffered his entire life from Cerebral Palsy caused by a Brachial Plexus injury during his birth." He had spent the recent years of his life helping others suffering with the same disability. The family have asked mourners not to send flowers, but instead to donate to the Brachial Plexus Foundation.

"Micah brought tremendous light, laughter and love into every life he touched and his presence will be greatly missed."

Olivia has starred alongside husband and his family on 'Welcome to Plathville' since 2019. It follows Ethan and his siblings, Hosanna, Micah, Moriah, Lydia, Isaac, Amber, Cassia, and Mercy, breaking outside of their parents' bubble and experiencing modern day things, such as internet, pop culture, soda and more.

There was some tension that stirred up during Olivia and Ethan's wedding,  where Kim (Ethan's mother) tried to "make it her wedding almost. It was at her place. She had what she wanted to do. She's just, you know, really excited, and I feel like that happens a good amount of times, but she probably went a little overboard and Olivia definitely felt that way," said Micah.

This drama came four years prior to Kim and husband Barry calling it quits after 24 years together. Soon after, Kim was arrested for DUI in October 2022. She was sentenced to 50 hours community service and had to attend DUI school, where she had to complete a substance abuse evaluation and comply with drug and alcohol testing.
