Miley Cyrus Decides Not To Tour Anymore
Miley Cyrus has noted it's been a while since she was on tour and has stated she doesn't see it happening anytime soon, or possibly ever again.
“It’s been a minute. After the last [headline arena] show I did [in 2014], I kind of looked at it as more of a question.”
“And I can’t. Not only ‘can’t…’ because can’t is your capability, but my desire. Do I want to live my life for anyone else’s pleasure or fulfillment other than my own? And, you know what…”
Her conclusion was just left “hanging in the air.”
Back in 2014, she went on a major tour supporting her 'Bangerz' album, which debuted the previous year.
She performed over 70 shows around the world, including New Zealand, Europe, The US, and Canada.
Her opening acts included Icona Pop, Lily Allen, and Sky Ferrira.
She has since been on smaller tours such as her 'Milky Milky Milk' Tour in 2015, which only lasted 8 shows, or performing at music festivals as a part of her 'Attention' Tour in 2022.
“Like singing for hundreds of thousands of people isn’t really the thing that I love. There’s no connection. There’s no safety.”
“It’s also not natural. It’s so isolating because if you’re in front of 100,000 people then you are alone.”
She claimed her focus right now was to make sure she's happy in her own life.
She has however, debuted new music, her latest album 'Endless Summer Vacation' was released in March 2023.
'Flowers,' dropped in January before its release, and broke a record, becoming the fastest song to reach one billion streams on Spotify.
It also spent eight consecutive weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 as No. 1.
In December 2018, she wed Liam Hemsworth, and the two were divorced in 2019.
She does have a new love, Maxx Morando.
She claims to have been seeing him for a few years now, after being set up on a blind date.
