John Farnham Cancer Update
An update has come forth from John Farnham's sons about their father's ongoing cancer battle.
Robert and James Farnham have spoken highly about their father and his resilience towards his private cancer battle.
“You have to keep positive and not get bogged down,” Robert said. “It’s cruel and brutal but they’re the cards you’re dealt in life and cancer doesn’t care who you are.”
John Farnham was diagnosed with cancer of the mouth back in October of 2022, and has since undergone a 13-hour operation to remove a cancerous tumor.
He has since been receiving ongoing treatment, care and rehabilitation. Sadly, his recovery hit a blockade last month as he was re-hospitalised with a lung infection.
His sons are “proud” of their dad for taking all of this on with a smile on his face, praising him for his attempt at another comeback with his upcoming film, 'John Farnham: Finding the Voice.'
It is on schedule to open in cinemas on May 18th, 2023.
This documentary was almost unfinished after the death of John's long-time manager and best friend Glenn Wheatley. He passed in February 2022, not long before John was diagnosed.
He has recovered well however, and he was determined to finish the film. It tells the story of his rising to stardom, as well as the challenges he underwent along the way, depression and poverty. His sons call it "inspiring."
“What he did was remarkable. But he has always seen the positive. He’s never let things get to him and he has always pushed through,” James said.
Yes, the superstar is ready for his big moment on screen, it has been reported he won't be returning to live performances as of yet.
“He’s got nothing left to prove,” James added. “He’s done it all, he’s climbed the mountain and his flag is still on top.”
