Earth, Wind & Fire Guitarist Dead At 63

Sheldon Reynolds, a.k.a. guitarist and singer for Earth, Wind & Fire had passed away at the age of 63.

He joined the band in 1987 and stayed with them until 2002.

"Sheldon was an excellent addition to the band, a great writer and producer, and a kind, loving person. He will be missed. Our condolences to his family."

He had appeared on albums 'Heritage,' 'Millennium,' and 'In the Name of Love.'

The band started in 1970 under leader Maurice White, who created the band to combine elements of jazz, funk, R&B, soul, dance, pop, and rock. He also wanted to celebrate African musicianship and spiritualism.

The band was inducted into to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000. They have also performed during the 2005 Super Bowl halftime show.

They are among the best-selling bands of all time, and have won six Grammys including the Grammy lifetime achievement award.

Their hits include 'September' among many more.

The drummer for the band, Fred White died in January at the age of 67. He was a vocalist, percussionist and bass player for the band.
