What To Know About The 'Teen Wolf' Revival Movie

The hit supernatural show Teen Wolf ended four years ago on MTV. Now, fans should be preparing because the characters they fell in love with will be reuniting for a revival movie!

Although it has taken a few years to happen, creator Jeff Davis has been planning to have the cast and world of Teen Wolf return since its ending in 2017.

"That was very specific. We didn't want a finale that said 'the end.' We wanted it to be an 'and the adventure continues...' I like imagining that they're going off to continue the fight. I didn't want to see an end where they all have children and they're happy and at home. That felt anticlimatic to me."

The movie will be picking up right where the series ended, after Scott McCall (Tyler Posey) and his "pack" have just finished their mission to save Beacon Hills.

The press release for the film revealed, "A full moon rises in Beacon Hills, and with it, a terrifying evil has emerged. The wolves are howling once again, calling for the return of Banshees, Werecoyotes, Hellhounds, Kitsunes, and every other shapeshifter in the night. But only a Werewolf like Scott McCall, no longer a teenager yet still an Alpha, can gather both new allies and reunite trusted friends to fight back against what could be the most powerful and deadliest enemy they've ever faced."

Tyler Posey, known for playing main character Scott McCall, has been trying to get a revival for years. He has recently revealed that he's "excited to play this character again."

"I think what I'm most excited for is to see them age. We were in high school for what seemed like 10 years. I'm excited to see them age and get out of high school. High school was such a character in itself on the show, so I'm excited to see how it's going to be without that sort of character of a school involved. It will be interesting."

"What really carried the show were the relationships, mostly between my character and Dylan O'Brien's character, Stiles. That to me is what really carried the show and what made people fall in love with it. And then we got to have a lot of fun on top of that with the supernatural element, the romantic element, the horror. I think as long as we have the element of a really great relationship, whether it's friends or romantic, then everything else kind of falls into place."

The new film is written by creator Jeff Davis and will be airing on Paramount+ in 2022.

Tyler Posey is the only confirmed cast member to be returning.

The stars that have hinted at a return to the world of Teen Wolf are:

- Holland Roden (Lydia Martin)
- Shelley Hennig (Malia Tate)
- Colton Haynes (Jackson Whittemore)
- Dylan Sprayberry (Liam Dunbar)
- Cody Christian (Theo Raeken)
- Melissa Ponzio (Melissa McCall)
- Linden Ashby (Sheriff Stilinski)
- Ian Bohen (Peter Hale)
- Khylin Rhambo (Mason Hewitt)
- Ryan Kelley (Deputy Parrish)

A fan also asked Linden Ashby on Twitter if he and Dylan O'Brien will be returning, and his response was "Yup."

That means that fans could get excited about the possible return of beloved Stiles Stilinski as well.
