It is a tradition that royals are granted their nobility on their wedding days by the monarch. Prince Harry received dukedom on the day he married Meghan Markle. This made them the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Similarly, Prince William received his nobility on the day he married Kate Middleton, making them Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
Beatrice and sister Eugenie have kept their royal status but were not granted titles by the Queen. Because of this, Princess Eugenie's son August Philip Hawke Brooksbank didn't inherit a royal title upon his birth.
Princess Beatrice name was previously styled as "Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice of York." Now that she is married, York will be dropped, as it is a reference to her parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, Duke and Duchess of York.
She is now styled as "Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice, Mrs. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi." In October 2018, Princess Eugenie underwent a similar change. She is now "Princess Eugenie, Mrs. Jack Brooksbank." |
