Morgan Freeman has recently discussed his views about defunding the police.

During an interview for his upcoming film The Killing of Kenneth Chamberlain, alongside co-star Frankie Faison, Morgan expressed his opinion regarding the recent efforts to defund the police.

"I'm not in the least bit for defunding the police. Police work is, aside from all the negativity around it, it is very necessary for us to have them and most of them are guys that are doing their job. They're going about their day-to-day jobs. There are some police that would never pull their guns except in range, that sort of thing."

Frankie Faison agreed with Morgan's expression on the controversial topic.

The film these two are promoting, The Killing of Kenneth Chamberlain, is based on the actual murder of a 68-year-old Black veteran who was fatally shot by police inside of his home which was situated in White Plains, New York.

The truth behind the story is a former Marine who had bipolar disorder, and accidentally triggered his medical alert device. This led to a confrontation with police which led to his death in 2011.
