Owen Wilson has signed on to star in Disney's new Haunted Mansion film, and it will leave fewer opportunities for fans to say the words "the feeling of watching Owen Wilson get his bleach-blonde head artlessly chewed off by a stone lion."

This film is Disney's latest attempt to market their theme-park rides as films. The other films that have been marketable being made from theme-park rides were Jungle Cruise, starring the iconic Dwayne Johnson, and The Pirates of the Caribbean series, starring Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow.

This new film is also set to star Tiffany Haddish and LaKeith Stanfield. This is also the second Haunted Mansion film to be made, the iconic first film starring Eddie Murphy in 2003.

The Eddie Murphy edition was also an attempt to throw a big movie star's name into the void to market a new film, although it wasn't as successful as Disney thought, considering the world was in the middle of a Pirates of the Caribbean fever.

Owen Wilson has become very familiar with Disney lately, starring as a weary time cop in Loki on Disney+. It is unclear what role Owen will be starring in as yet. Could be a ghost, a ghostbuster, or even the creepy old guy who tells you not to go into the Haunted Mansion.

We look forward to seeing what comes of the project and seeing Owen in all his glory once again.
