Russell Wilson is recovering after undergoing hand surgery due to a mid-game hand injury and Ciara is right by his side.

"You're the toughest Man I know." She captioned an Instagram image of the two in hospital. "Always dedicated and committed to do whatever it takes."

"I love you so much my Sweet King. Thank you Dr Shin and team for taking care of my baby #3 #RareBreed. (Red heart emoji, muscle emoji, goat emoji).

In the image, Ciara can be seen standing next to her husband while he lay on a hospital gurney. To show their good spirits, Russell even flexed his muscles for the camera.

Russell also reposted the image on his Instagram story, captioning it "My queen" and included a bible quote from James 1:2-NIV.

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance." Russell posted this alongside his own social media upload with a "kingdom thoughts" hashtag and three praying hands emojis beside it.

Ciara then reposted his story onto her page saying, "I love you so much baby (red heart emoji)."

The football player also posted a post-surgery pic showcasing him in a wheelchair, wearing sweatpants, a hoodie, sunglasses, and a baseball cap. He captioned the image "Lion Heart."

During a football game the Seattle Seahawks had against the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday 7th October, Russell injured his right middle finger.

"He sustained two injuries to the finger: an extensor tendon rupture (mallet finger) and a comminuted fracture-dislocation of the proximal interphalangeal joint. He had a successful surgery today in Los Angeles by hand specialist Dr. Steven Shin at the Cedars-Sinai Kerlan Jobe Surgery Center to repair both injuries. He will start therapy his weekend and it is highly anticipated that he will return to play later this season," read a statement released to the public.

After the procedure, Dr. Shin is confident he will make a full recovery.

"Based on what I saw today,  am fully confident Russell will return to the NFL this season and play at the same world-class level that fans have come to expect of one of the game's very best quarterbacks."
