During the livestream, a montage of the band in their younger years singing several of their hit songs throughout the decade was featured. Another montage was featured that showcased superfans, including Kylie Minogue, dancing along to the band's songs.
The event then went on to surprise fans with the premiere of their new music video and song 'I Still Have Faith In You.'
"When Benny played the melody, I just knew it had to be about us," said Björn.
A second song, 'Don't Shut Me Down,' was also released.
The virtual concert has been reported to be using motion caption technology in order to make the band appear younger, and in their 70s glory.
Benny and Björn revealed they initially decided on two songs, but instead kept it going and chose to do a whole new record.
"It's about realising that it's inconceivable to be where we are. No imagination could dream up that, to release an album after 40 years and still be the best of friends, and still be enjoying each other's company, and have a total loyalty," said Björn. |
