Olympian Mirabai Chanu To Have Movie Made About Her

A film production company based out of Manipur has chosen to make a biopic of the life of Mirabai Chanu, Olympic silver medalist.

Manaobi MM, Chairman of Seuti Films Production, has said, "We'll be making a feature film based on Mirabai Chanu's life and various other incidents of her life."

Manaobi MM will be writing the screenplay and dialogue of the film, OC Meira will be directing, and RK Nalini Devi will be producing.

The film will show Mirabai's childhood, her introduction and training in weightlifting, her participation in national and international events and her win at the Tokyo Olympics.

The film will be subtitled in English and other Indian languages.

Mirabai is the first Indian to win an Olympic medal at the Tokyo Olympics and her country's first-ever silver medalist in women's weightlifting.

Karnem Malleswari was the first Olympic medalist for the country winning a bronze medal at the Sydney 2000 Olympics.
