Lynyrd Skynyrd Cancel Show Due To Positive COVID-19 Test

Lynyrd Skynyrd have cancelled their show at the Jackson County Fair in Jackson, Michigan due a member of the band members contracting COVID-19.

They announced they would be unable to perform their next four scheduled shows. One of the scheduled performances was at the 167th Annual Jackson County Fair.

"Longtime band member Rickey Medlocke has tested positive for COVID-19. Rickey is home resting and responding well to treatment. We will continue to update you on his condition."

This performance stop was one of the ones on their farewell tour.

The fair lasted from August 8th to August 14th and  replacement act for Lynyrd Skynyrd was being looked into.

Toby Keith kicked off the live music events. He was set to perform at the 2020 fair but the performance was postponed.

Another band that was scheduled to perform is the contemporary Christian band MercyMe.

MercyMe's 'I Can Only Imagine' was the first digital single in Christian music history to be certified platinum.
