Britney Spears' Father Claims New Possible Hospitalisation

Britney Spears' father, Jamie Spears has claimed her personal conservator Jodi Montgomery is in fear Britney is spiralling out of control again, most recently in July. 

Jamie has detailed a phone conversation alleging Jodi Montgomery has raised the possibility of involuntarily detaining Britney for psychiatric hospitalisation.

He has stated Montgomery called him on July 9th, "sounding very distraught and expressed how concerned she was about my daughter's recent behaviour and overall health."

Allegedly Britney hasn't been taking her medication properly, was refusing to see doctors and Montgomery pleaded for Jamie to intervene.

"After Ms. Montgomery shared her detailed concerns about my daughter's recent behaviour, safety, and overall health, she raised potential options including a 5150 psychiatric hold, which raised my concerns," he said.

According to Jamie, Montgomery retracted the statement and sent a follow up email three days later claiming she "back-tracked on most of the details she shared with me and discounted the need for a 5150."

Montgomery's lawyers have stated, "At no time did Ms. Montgomery express to Mr. Spears that Ms. Spears would currently qualify for such a hold.

"The concern that Ms. Montgomery did raise to Mr. Spears during their telephone call is that forcing Ms. Spears to take the stand to testify or to have her evaluated would move the needle in the wrong direction for her mental health."

Montgomery's lawyers have reiterated an earlier recommendation for a "critical" prompt strip of Jamie's control of Britney's money and finances.

"Ms. Montgomery cannot emphasise this enough - the sooner Mr. Spears' suspension can be addressed by the Court, the better for Ms. Spears and her emotional health and well-being."

Jamie's attorneys claim he has faithfully carried out his duties and saved the estate from disaster when Britney faced "tens of thousands of dollars of lawsuits."

A filing states his "sole motivation has been his unconditional love for his daughter and a fierce desire to protect her from those trying to take advantage of her."

His lawyers argue there are "no grounds whatsoever to suspend him" as conservator of the estate.
