Will Smith Is Releasing A Memoir

Do you want to know the life story of legendary icon Will Smith? Well now's your chance!

Will Smith has posted on his Instagram a picture of the cover and title of his forthcoming autobiography Will. The book will be published by Penguin Press this coming November.

"I've been working on it for the past two years and it's finally ready," Will said in his video announcement of the book.

Will has described this autobiography as "a labour of love" and has shared the cover art of the book which details layered portraits of Will painted one on top of the other. It was created by visual artist Brandan 'BMike' Odums, who is New Orleans based.

The book will follow Will's persona and professional journey, everything including his upbringing in West Philidelphia to his success in finding inner happiness and his triumphs in music, on the small screen, and on the big screen.

Will has stated, "It's easy to maneuver the material world once you have conquered your own mind. I believe that. Once you've learned the terrain of your own mind, every experience, every emotion, every circumstance, whether positive or negative, simply propels you forward, to greater growth and greater experience. That is true will. To move forward in spite of anything. And to move forward in a way that brings others with you, rather than leave them behind."

"In Will, one of the most dynamic and globally-recognised entertainment forced of our time open up fully about his life, tracing his learning curve to a place where outer success, inner happiness, and human connection are aligned." Penguin Press said in a statement.

"Along the way, Will tells the story in full of one of the most amazing rides through the worlds of music and film that anyone has ever had. The memoir is the product of a profound journey of self-knowledge, a reckoning with all that your will can get you and all that it can leave behind."

Will Smith collaborated with author of The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck, Mark Manson, and will be narrating the audiobook from Penguin Random House Audio.

The book was first teased back in July 2018 when Smith released an Instagram video saying, "I'm writing a book. I've got years and years of stuff I've been wanting to say and I'm finally gonna write a book."

He also jested that he would be going to five different publishers and picking the "highest bidder."

In order to celebrate the announcement of the autobiography, unsurprisingly Will Smith hosted a Block party in Wynwood Arts District of Miami, Florida. Well over 100 local Miami students appeared, in collaboration with My Brother's Keeper Alliance, American Federation of Teachers (AFT), Max M. Fisher Boys & Girls Club, Winning Strategies and the Miami Mayor's Office.

Alongside his book, Smith has also released the WILL Youth Book Club, a group whose main aim is to create a global community where members can discuss Will and upcoming events.

So get ready folks because Will will be released on November 9th, 2021!
